Twilight Night Tomorrow!

Having a Girls Night Out tomorrow to go and see this:

Looking so forward to having a night off from my 24/7 mom job. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade that job for anything, but a few hours with the gals is just what I need right now. I'm going with my mom Karen, sister Lisa, BFF Heather Jo, and Jo's mom and sisters. We're meeting for dinner and then it's popcorn and lemonade time. It's going to be a GREAT night! I'll have to take a nap so I can stay awake for the whole movie. Listen to me... I sound like an old lady. The movie starts at 9:00 and I'm worried about falling asleep. When I was dating Dan, the night didn't even begin until 9:30 or 10:00 when we would go to the bay and dance the night away. Oh, for the times we stayed up until 3:00 am. Ha! I think you grow up and realize just how precious sleep is. Especially with cute little kiddos who inevitebly interrupt any semblence of a sleep pattern you may have established.

Crazy Hair Day

During Red Ribbon Week, Hunter's School Had "Crazy Hair Day". So, we went to the store to let him pick out a spray hair color. This is what he came up with. I thought at the last minute to pair it with this shirt. Totally Hilarious. He looked like a pumpkin!

The eyebrows really did me in. Funny thing was, when I picked him up from school, everything was just as green as when he left. Too, too funny.!

Of course, Carly had to be in on all the action...
(We went out in public with her like that! Tee hee hee...)

And she figured Fisher had to be as well. A few hours after this picture was taken, I walked in and he had a perfect green circle on his forehead as well. Hunter had been at school for hours, so I laughed my butt off when she told me "Hunter did it." When that didn't work, she told me Fisher had done it to himself. Double big fat "Yeah Right..." Sigh. Little Kids. Life would be boring without 'em. After what seemed like forever, and now having super thick caked on hair color herself, she finally admitted to the deed. She wasn't happy when I had to soap her hair up 4 times and scrub to get all the color off her scalp. I sang Phoebe's song (From Friends) to myself as she squirmed and complained about all the hair washing. "Lather, Rinse, Repee-heat... Lather, Rinse, Repee-heat... Lather, Rinse, Repee-heat... As Needed!"

Observation day at Carly's Dance Class

There's only two days the whole season that parents are allowed to watch dance class. Last Wednesday was our day to go. I was smiling and laughing the entire time. These pics and video were taken with Dan's camera. When I get my uploaded, I will share them too. In this picture, they were lining up to "leap" over the "river" without getting their feet "wet" (on the blue material)

She told them to get ready...

and here they go... enjoy!

When shoveling up the gross dog "stuff"-

If at first you don't suceed...

...please, please, don't do this.
(Even if it is really old, really crustified and doesn't smash when you pick it up)

Like she was born to do it.

Carly is all of 3 years old, and she rides a horse like she was born to do it. She was taking charge of Cookie and showing her who was boss! Maybe she was born to boss around her brother too (chuckle). If you look real closely, you'll notice she is wearing a skirt. She LOVES skirts and I decided it wasn't worth a fight to get her to put her wranglers and boots on. I love that my saddle is too big and that her legs are 5 miles too short for the stirrups. A real cowgirl that little girlie!

She didn't want to get off Cookie that night. She's a true Christiansen. Whenever we were at riding practice, we'd be the first ones to arrive and the last ones to leave. I see a little of that in her too. When your day seems hard, think of the look on her face in this picture and I'm sure it'll leave a smile on your face. It sure did mine.
